On April 22, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution to stimulate the production of pharmaceuticals from donor blood.

Earlier, the president lifted the ban on the collection of donor blood and the private production of pharmaceutical products based on it.

According to the new resolution, the rules for organizing the process of producing medicines from donor blood plasma have been approved.

Legal entities wishing to engage in this type of activity must meet a number of criteria, including the availability of licenses for medical and pharmaceutical activities, a GMP certificate, and the use of medical equipment for plasmapheresis registered in Uzbekistan.

Additionally, quality standards have been defined for the production of medicinal products from donated blood to ensure the safety and effectiveness of products.

The new resolution came into force on April 23, 2024.
