In Uzbekistan, the volume of construction work completed amounted to 132,386.9 billion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to preliminary data from the Statistics Agency, as of December 1, 2023, the total number of enterprises and organizations engaged in construction activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 35,297 units. The largest number of construction enterprises is 7,364, or 20.9% of their total number, united in Tashkent. In the city of Tashkent there are 7,364 construction enterprises (20.9% of the total number in the republic), Fergana region - 3,008 (8.5%), which is more than in other regions. In January-November 2023, the volume of construction work completed in Uzbekistan amounted to 132,386.9 billion soums, which, compared to the same period in 2022, is 106.9%. In January-November 2023, high volumes of construction work were noted in the regions, in particular in the city of Tashkent (32,210.8 billion soums), Tashkent (12,253.0 billion soums) and Samarkand (8,937.9 billion soums) regions. Construction work in the Republic of Uzbekistan for January-November 2023 is distributed by type of economic activity as follows:

  • the share of construction of buildings and structures reached 69.9%, which, compared to the same period in 2022, amounted to 105.3%; -the share of construction of civil facilities was fixed at 20.8% and, if compared with the corresponding period in 2022, this amounted to 104.9%;
  • the share of specialized construction work is 9.3% and, compared to the same period in 2022, this amounted to 126.9%. A significant part of the work was carried out on the construction of new buildings and structures. Thus, 70.3% of their total volume, or 93,044.2 billion soums, were aimed at creating new production capacities in the economic sphere, housing and communal services and other social facilities. Large construction organizations carried out construction work on new construction worth 27,654.0 billion soums, or 29.7% of their total volume. Small enterprises and micro-firms completed construction work on new construction worth 43,543.7 billion soums, or 46.8% of their total volume. In the informal sector, construction work on new construction was completed for 21,846.5 billion soums, or 23.5% of their total volume. In January-November 2023, high volumes were noted for new construction work by region, in particular in Tashkent city (18,982.0 billion soums), Tashkent region (7,630.1 billion soums), Samarkand region (6,061.5 billion soums) and Bukhara region (5,757.9 billion soums). The share in the total volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations in the overall structure of buildings and structures was 25.1% and, compared to the same period in 2022, it decreased by 0.7 percentage points. The share of small enterprises and micro-firms in this type of activity, when compared with the same period in 2022, decreased by 0.7 percentage points and amounted to 47.8%. The share of the informal sector, compared to the same period in 2022, increased by 1.4 percentage points. and amounted to 27.1%. Civil construction includes the construction of heavy structures, such as highways, streets, bridges, tunnels, railways, airfields, harbors and other water projects, irrigation systems, industrial structures, pipelines, power lines, outdoor sports complexes and etc. The share of the volume of construction work carried out by large construction organizations for the construction of civil facilities amounted to 25.9% and decreased, compared to the corresponding period in 2022, by 3.1 percentage points. The share of small enterprises and microfirms in the construction of facilities amounted to 74 .0% (increase by 3.1 percentage points). The share of the informal sector, compared to the same period in 2022, amounted to 0.1% and remained unchanged. For reference: the highest share in the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations was noted in Tashkent (28.2% of the total volume of construction work in this region), Kashkadarya region (25.2%) and Syrdarya region

The share of construction work performed by small enterprises and microfirms in January-November 2023 amounted to 56.0% of their total volume, which is 1.1% more when compared with the same period in 2022. Thus, the total volume of construction work performed by them amounted to 74,109.2 billion soums and, in relation to the corresponding period in 2022, it reached 110.1%. For reference: the largest volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and micro-firms during the period under review was noted in Tashkent (20,144.4 billion soums), Samarkand (6,651.7 billion soums) and Tashkent (6,520.4 billion soums) areas. The share of construction work in the informal sector amounted to 19.0%, or 25,131.7 billion soums and, compared to the same period in 2022, it reached 107.4%. In the informal sector, work on individual housing construction reached 18,402.3 billion soums and, in relation to the same period in 2022, this amounted to 111.3%, also for the construction of non-residential facilities by individuals - 3,255.7 billion soums and, in relation to compared to the same period in 2022 - 86.5%, for individual repairs - 3,473.7 billion soums and, in relation to the same period in 2022, - 111.7%. Construction work in the republic as a whole, carried out by state organizations, reached 3,575.2 billion soums, the volume of construction work performed by non-governmental organizations amounted to 128,811.7 billion soums, and their share is 2.7% and 97.3%, respectively.
