The main directions of the food safety strategy have been approved
The goal is to increase the volume of production of high-value-added products by 1.5 times and export figures by 2 times in the next 5 years.
The presidential decree "On additional measures to ensure food security in the Republic" was adopted. The document sets a goal to increase the volume of production of high-value-added products by 1.5 times and export figures by 2 times in the next five years.
The Presidential decree approved the Strategy for ensuring Food Security and Healthy Nutrition in Uzbekistan until 2030.
Its main directions are:
• Implementation of effective economic and environmental management systems to use natural, financial and material resources to ensure food safety and healthy nutrition, as well as to lead a healthy and active life for all segments of the population;
• Creation of strategically important stocks of agricultural and food products and their raw materials through mechanisms based on the principles of a free market economy;
• in the process of providing food and healthy nutrition, identify, assess and manage risks that may arise from the negative consequences of natural and man-made disasters, global political and economic crises, pandemics, military operations and other events, as well as the creation of a notification and monitoring platform, and much more.
