Import of another 15 types of equipment to Uzbekistan is exempt from duties and VAT

The Government has expanded the list of equipment exempt from customs duties and VAT when imported to Uzbekistan, analogues of which are not produced in the republic. This includes tower cranes, greenhouse equipment and much more. The powers of the Government Commission on Foreign Trade are expanding.

On September 19, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution on simplifying the import of a number of types of industrial and other equipment to Uzbekistan.

The document expands the list of technological equipment exempt from customs duties and VAT when imported to Uzbekistan, analogues of which are not produced in the republic (there were 678 categories in total).

As Spot notes, 15 more types of equipment are included in the list:

• wheeled lifting trusses, gantry loaders;

• tower cranes;

• pneumatic lifts and conveyors for textile fibers;

• other pneumatic lifts and conveyors;

• bucket elevators and continuous conveyors;

• belt elevators and conveyors;

• roller conveyors;

• other elevators and conveyors;

• sorting machines, as well as machines for packing, tying, opening, closing, sealing mail, gluing and extinguishing stamps;

• equipment for the production of tobacco sticks;

• alternators (375-750 kVA);

• alternators (with a capacity of more than 750 kVA);

• high temperature welding equipment;

• quarry dump trucks with a lifting capacity of more than 50 tons;

• machinery and equipment for greenhouses.

The powers of the Government Commission on Foreign Trade, Investment, Development of Local Industry and Technical Regulation are expanding. He will determine the list of equipment from the above list older than three years, which can be imported without paying duties.
