The demand of the domestic market for polyethylene has increased by a third in Uzbekistan

In two months of 2022, 26.6 thousand tons of polyethylene pellets were sold to the domestic market through exchange trading (in January - 16.1 thousand tons, in February - 10.5 thousand tons). This is 32.9% more than in the corresponding period of 2021, the newspaper "UZEX News" writes.

The market structure is traditionally dominated by film and pipe polyethylene. Their share was 40% and 20%, respectively.

In third place is injection-molded polyethylene, the share of which is 18%, the specific weight of blown polyethylene was 17%.

The share of the brand of injectable polyethylene is at the level of 4%.

The price trend for all brands of polyethylene in January-February showed an upward trend. So, if in January the prices amounted to 17.7 million soums per ton, then in February the quotes increased to 18.1 million soums per ton.

The capital is the leader in terms of the acquisition structure. The total share of Tashkent and Tashkent region is 57%. The share of the Samarkand region increased from 12% to 13% compared to the same period last year. The share of the Ferghana region, on the contrary, decreased from 13% to 8%. Namangan and Jizzakh regions occupy 5% of the market, the UzRTSB publication summarizes.
