Chemical-industrial technopark "Chirchik" will appear in Tashkent region 

On February 3, the president signed a decree «On measures to create a chemical-industrial technopark «Chirchik» in the Tashkent region.»

This document is intended to give effect to the agreements reached earlier between the Khokimiyat of the Tashkent region, Uzkimyosanoat JSC and the administration of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on the creation of the Chirchik technopark in cooperation with the Russian Himgrad JSC.

This technopark is registered as an LLC by the decision of the Board of JSC «Uzkimyosanoat».

The main directions of its activities will be:

investment projects involving foreign and domestic capital for the production of import-substituting or high-value-added products in demand on the foreign market;

creation of energy-efficient production facilities with a focus on environmental protection, environmental safety and compliance with international standards;

comprehensive and effective use of the region's production and resource potential to increase the export potential of products;

accelerated localization of high-tech products based on local raw materials and materials due to industrial cooperation on the scale of the republic;

creation of a unified production infrastructure for the participants of the technopark, as well as the provision of a number of services for certification, laboratory research, training, etc. by creating appropriate infrastructures.

The technopark project is planned to be implemented for 30 years with the possibility of further extension.

Tax, customs and currency regimes have been introduced on the territory of this technopark as for the FEZ (free economic zone). Benefits for FEZ and customs payments are provided for 10 years and do not depend on the amount of investments made by the participants of the technopark, its directorate and the management company.

The State Fund for Business Support provides the participants of the technopark:

guarantees for half of the amount of bank loans received to replenish working capital, but the amount should not exceed 8 billion soums;

compensation to cover interest expenses on loans issued for the implementation of investment projects.

The technopark is being created on the territory of the NGO for the production of rare metals and hard alloys of Almalyk MMC JSC and workshop No. 51 for the production of metallic sodium of Maksam-Chirchik JSC. The total area of the technopark will be 31.24 hectares.
