Uzbekistan to adopt Chinese technologies and standards in road construction
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from the Committee for Roads of Uzbekistan is currently on a working visit to the People's Republic of China. The main focus of the visit is to expand scientific and technical cooperation in the field of road construction. In particular, meetings were held with the leadership of the Tianjin Institute of Engineering Survey, Design, and Research. During a visit to the largest testing laboratory in China, discussions centered on opportunities for joint development of innovative road materials and the implementation of advanced technologies. As a result of the negotiations, Uzbekistan signed its first-ever cooperation agreement in the road sector with one of the world’s technologically advanced countries. The agreement outlines the creation of a unified system of road construction standards, the development of innovative solutions, and the launch of digitalization projects in the road industry. The signed agreement marks a significant milestone for the Road Research Institute of Uzbekistan and opens up new opportunities for applying advanced international experience. In the near future, practical steps will begin in the country to implement modern materials, standardize processes, and drive digital transformation in the sector. This partnership is expected to make a substantial contribution to strengthening Uzbekistan's scientific potential and modernizing its road infrastructure in line with international standards.
