Uzbekistan suspends the export of gold

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the first quarter, Uzbekistan exported non-monetary gold worth US$2.97 billion soums. However, according to the State Statistics Committee, in the second quarter, the indicators remained at the same level.

At the same time, exports of fertilizers, oil and gas, and power generators increased.

It is likely that the republic has not exported gold for four months, as its value on the market is declining. The price per troy ounce reached US$2039 at the end of the first decade of March. By 20 July, the figure was already US$1,709.
