A solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 60 kW has been put into operation at the Fergana Thermal power Plant

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz ) -- In July of this year, a solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 60 kW for its own needs was installed and put into operation in the building of the boiler shop of JSC Ferghana CHP. This, in turn, allows the company to save thermal energy by 47.45 Gcal annually, and electrical energy by 108 thousand kWh.

By the end of the year, it is also planned to install 13 solar water heaters with a total capacity of 2,600 liters in the existing buildings of JSC Ferghana CHP. In addition, in order to reduce the consumption of fuel and energy resources in production, increase energy efficiency, introduce energy-saving technologies and renewable energy sources, it is planned to install solar panels with a capacity of 1800-2000 kW on the site of an old coal warehouse that has not been used for many years. Taking into account the operation of these solar panels in the "On-Grid" mode, it is possible to obtain 7-8 million kW of additional electricity per year, as well as save fuel and energy resources and reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere.

For reference, the station has a 200-liter water heater and lighting powered by 4 solar panels with a total capacity of 13 kW. A total of 162,018 kW has been saved since 2020 – from the moment of commissioning to the present day.h of electricity and 0.07 Gcal of thermal energy.
