Masdar Company has signed contracts for $396 million for the construction of three solar power plants in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz ) – For the construction and management of 3 large solar photovoltaic power plants in Surkhandarya (Sherabad), Samarkand (Kattakurgan) and Jizzakh (Gallaaral) regions of our republic, Masdar signed contracts to attract credit funds with the EBRD for 127 million US dollars, with the ADB for 102 million US dollars and their partner banks in the amount of US$ 167 million.

These solar photovoltaic plants with a total installed capacity of 897 MW with an annual output of 2 billion kWh of electricity will become the largest solar energy projects in the region. The commissioning of early facilities in Samarkand (Kattakurgan) and Jizzakh (Gallaaral) regions is scheduled for December this year.

We remind you that according to the results of the tender held for the implementation of these projects, Masdar company from the United Arab Emirates was recognized as the winner with the best offers.

For reference, as a result of the commissioning of photovoltaic plants, 620 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved per year, and more than 600 thousand households will be supplied with "green" energy.
